Compatibility
Check your versions first
Compare your game version, platform, and tool version with the tool's stated requirements. Recheck compatibility after a game patch before making changes.
The OVI TOOLS field guide
Start with publisher-permitted offline use. Build good habits for protecting your saves, checking compatibility, keeping track of updates, and troubleshooting changes.
Check tool statusRead before using any tool
Public or ranked use can result in suspension or permanent bans. Offline modes and private lobbies do not exempt you from publisher rules. Some publishers prohibit even having unauthorized cheat tools on your device. OVI TOOLS cannot guarantee that an account will avoid penalties.
Read the publisher's current rules and the tool's documentation before installation. Confirm that the modification, game mode, platform, and versions are permitted and supported.
Use story or offline modes only where the publisher permits modifications. Private lobbies are online and are not automatically permitted. If the game has no approved mode for the modification, do not use it.
Copy your saves and original settings to a separate backup. Test one compatible tool at a time in a permitted offline environment, and keep a record of changes so you can restore your setup.
For a publisher-approved private session or test server, restrict access to invited participants and get the server owner's and participating players' authorization. Their consent does not override the publisher's rules.
Remove modifications, restore original game files, close tools, and restart the game before public or ranked matchmaking. Follow the publisher's requirements; these steps do not guarantee protection from enforcement.
Never disable or bypass anti-cheat protections. A tool's status indicator is not publisher approval or a guarantee against bans. Stop using a tool if permission or compatibility is unclear.
Publisher rules and enforcement policies govern use. Review the Epic Games Terms of Service and Rockstar Games suspension and ban policy, plus the current rules for your specific game.
Your setup checklist
Compatibility
Compare your game version, platform, and tool version with the tool's stated requirements. Recheck compatibility after a game patch before making changes.
Preparation
Before installing or updating a tool, copy the saves and configuration files it may affect. Keep the backup separate and label it with the date and game version.
Setup
Review the tool's installation steps, dependencies, and release notes. Keep a note of your original settings so you can retrace your changes.
Fine-tuning
Adjust one setting or add one tool, then check how the game behaves. Small, documented changes make it easier to identify what helped or caused a problem.
Updates
Visit the Status page for each tool's published indicator and update notice. Read any maintenance guidance before installing an update or changing your setup.
Troubleshooting
Record the game and tool versions, the exact error, and the steps that triggered it. Include recent changes when asking for help, and remove personal information from logs or screenshots.
Browse the catalog and review each tool's details before choosing what fits your setup.
These are general setup tips. Follow the documentation for your game and tool; requirements and installation steps can differ.
